HOW TO GET TO THOUSAND ISLANDS VIEWPOINT
Thousand Islands Viewpoint is a 1 hour ride from the Toya Pakeh Harbour, where the ferries arrive from Bali. From the harbour you can either hire a driver or rent a scooter. Whilst scooters are cheaper, if you aren’t a confident driver we do not recommend this option as the Nusa Penida roads are very unpredictable and underdeveloped.
A driver for the day will cost 500K-600K IDR ($50-60 AUD), and a scooter will cost 50K-80K IDR ($5-8 AUD) for the day. If you are staying on Nusa Penida you can ask for a driver at you accommodation or contact our driver, Wayan, on his WhatsApp number +62 819 0718 6417. Wayan took us to all the places we wanted, and would wait until we finished exploring each destination.
You can also combine Thousand Islands Viewpoint with Atuh Beach and Diamond Beach in an East Nusa Penida Tour. Book your tour from Bali below.
Klook.comWHAT TO EXPECT AT THOUSAND ISLANDS VIEWPOINT
This location is included in the eastern tour and is a perfect location to see the sunrise if you get there early. Like most of the Nusa Penida destinations, it is a hike up and down steps or rugged pathways to get there. Although, this place had concrete steps and only took about 10 minutes to get down. What is amazing about this location, is that you can actually stay in the treehouses and they have the best views of the southern coast. You can see Diamond Beach down below and tall rocky formations off the coast.

WHERE TO STAY ON NUSA PENIDA
We enjoyed three nights on the island to celebrate Dyl’s birthday. Even though Nusa Penida is a beautiful destination to visit, not many people come to stay, so accommodation is quite cheap. We booked through AirBnB and stayed at Ocean Terrace Suites and Spa Luxury on the North-East coast of the island, about a 20-minute drive from the ferry port. We recommend staying 3-4 nights around the town, along the north-east coast of the island, as it is easier to access shops and restaurants, and the roads are better.
